The Canadian Kennel Club would like to remind members that, as a result of positive discussions with WestJet Cargo earlier this year, members can continue to ship dogs via WestJet Cargo without the need of a Commercial Account.
In order to ship dogs via WestJet Cargo, members must verify their membership affiliation by completing the official WestJet shipping application. Shipments will be accepted providing shipping regulations are met and your CKC membership number is included. Please note that all shipments are subject to final WestJet approval and must be submitted on the above official WestJet form.
Although the CKC has facilitated this arrangement on behalf of our membership, we are otherwise uninvolved with the shipping process, and therefore unable to act as arbitrators should you require assistance.
All questions must be directed to WestJet regarding shipping requirements, applications, regulations, tracking, or any part of the process. Please contact WestJet Cargo directly via their Customer Service Department at 1(866) 952-2746 or via email info@elsmarketing.com.
Please note that holiday embargos continue to apply for WestJet and Air Canada.
WestJet is unable to transport pets from December 15 to January 6 as checked baggage and from December 11 to January 10 as Cargo. Please note that WestJet continues to allow pets to travel in-cabin all year round, including during the embargo period. For more details about WestJet’s pet travel regulations, please click here.
Air Canada is unable to transport pets as checked baggage or Cargo, from December 18 to January 7. For more information on Air Canada pet travel regulations, please click here. Details regarding Air Canada Cargo can be obtained directly from 1-866-615-1155 (North America) or by clicking here.
Given that our membership relies heavily on air travel, in order to safely and efficiently transport dogs, CKC will continue to post web updates regarding air travel regulations as they occur.
