CKC is pleased to announce the recipient of this year’s CKC-sponsored
student award in support of the University of Prince Edward
Island, Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC).
Each year, CKC donates $500 towards a student award to support Canadian
veterinary colleges like AVC.
On behalf of CKC Board Chair Dwain McLean, Dr. LeeAnn Pack, Department
of Companion Animals, was on hand to present the award to veterinary student,
Chantal Houle, at the Atlantic Veterinary College Recognition night, October 8, 2009.
Chantal has a particular passion for canine medicine and devoted her
second and third year of veterinary school to the formation of the AVC Canine
Club, which enabled students to obtain further education and experience with
dogs.
Now
in her final year of studies, Chantal plans to pursue an internship in
companion animal medicine, followed by a residency in emergency medicine and
critical care.
