It’s good to know that the CKC has undertaken the compilation of the Top Dog Awards previously prepared under the auspices of Dogs in Canada magazine.
The Dogs in Canada Top Dog award system has been going strong since it was established in 1963 and continues this summer as a valued and highly anticipated aspect of the Canadian dog fancy.
The “unofficial” Conformation results will be released mid-June, followed by Obedience, then Agility, and wrapping it all up with Field Trial results, including Retrievers, Pointers and Lure Coursers.
Unlike previous years, when the Top Dog results were a major part of the summer/fall issues of Dogs in Canada magazine, this year you will be able to view the results online. The posting of the “unofficial results” will allow a final check by the contenders and will be available publicly for a 30-day period before the “official results” are confirmed and awards sent out. If there are any discrepancies in our “unofficial results”, those challenging the information will have the opportunity to register their concerns via a special email address and should provide documentation supporting their request for changes in any status.
We will be pleased to provide more details as the project unfolds, but the message today is that Top Dog Awards are coming soon...and that’s good to know!
