Junior Handlers from across the country enjoyed a wonderful weekend in beautiful
Orillia, Ontario at the National Finals held on August 4th, with new national
champions being chosen from an outstanding field of Zone Champions from across
the country. Best Overall Junior - Conformation was versatile and enthusiastic Colton O’Shea from Nova Scotia (Zone 1B) and Best Overall Junior - Obedience was the poised and talented Veronica Fraser from Alberta.

Junior Handling sponsor Royal Canin will help make it possible for Conformation champion Colton O’Shea to travel to Crufts to compete at the International Junior Handling Competition in March 2013. It will be an ideal trip for Colton, a former CKC National Obedience champion, and the CKC will have a stellar junior conformation handler representing Canada at Crufts.

Congratulations to three-time Obedience Champion Veronica Fraser to for an exceptional performance and making it a hat trick!

Consummate organizer and Nationals Chair Elizabeth Numbers added some Orillia fun with a beautiful cruise and barbecue on Saturday evening. Huge thanks to Elizabeth, Best in Show Dog Supplies, Orillia Boat Cruises and MJN Show Services.

A special shout out to Conformation judges Kevin Urquhart, Sean Shields, Alan Ewles, Rosemary Shoreman and Brittany Carella and Obedience judges Gary Hudson, Laura Belisle and Lisa Frederick for their hard work, expertise and enthusiasm. Elizabeth and the Barrie Kennel and Obedience Club were gracious hosts and helped present an unforgettable weekend for competitors and their families.
