The Canadian Kennel Club is the primary registry body for purebred dogs in Canada - adhering to the federal Animal Pedigree Act and operating under the auspices of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. We have been protecting our breeds through registration for over 100 years and currently register individual dogs while maintaining pedigree records for the 175 breeds recognized by our organization.

The CKC has approximately 25,000 individual PuppyList

members across Canada with nearly 20,000 kennel names registered or permanently registered. Our breeder members voluntarily adhere to a Code of Ethics and a Code of Practice - their knowledge is gained from years of dedication to their chosen breed, as well as through the collaboration of our members as they share their experience.
