Incorporated under Animal Pedigree Act, The Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) is the primary registry body for purebred dogs in Canada and currently recognizes 187 breeds.

As a national, member-based, non-profit organization, CKC is dedicated to encouraging, guiding, and advancing the interests of purebred dogs and their responsible owners and breeders in Canada and promoting the knowledge and understanding of the benefits which dogs can bring to Canadian society. CKC members are trusted for their expertise and commitment to the health and well-being of dogs in Canada.

The Club and its members share their love of dogs with integrity and commitment by adhering to CKC policies and procedures, the Member Code of Ethics and Code of Practice for CKC Member Breeders.

1 Membership privileges are not transferable. In the case of co-owners, member rates apply only if all of the co-owners are Regular Members of the CKC in good standing; otherwise, non-member rates and rules apply.

2 Voting privileges are bestowed on a Regular member after one year.

3 After one year of continuous membership with CKC, a Regular member may stand for election to the Board of Directors, CKC Committees, and Councils. The minimum voting age for a Regular Club member is 19, and voting privileges are extended to Canadian residents only.
