Can I host a CGN event at a private facility?
If the facility is being used for a public event (example, an open house) a CGN event may be run in unison. The test and facility must be advertised to the public allowing anyone to participate. The CGN demonstrates a dog’s ability to be a good citizen in a busy, public environment. It is important that an event provide the correct environment in which to test a dog.
Who Can Host an Event?
CKC recognized clubs can host CGN events free of charge. For a fee, non-CKC organizations such as dog clubs, local municipalities, SPCA associations, rescue groups, vet clinics, grooming/training facilities, service clubs, and many other organizations can host a CGN event.
How Much Is the Test Fee for Participants?
As the test host you are responsible for determining the fee per participant. Keeping in mind that for every pass, you will be responsible for submitting the Title Certificate Fee outlined in the “Shows and Trials” section of the Fee Schedule and will likely want to cover your cost.
How long will it take for participants to receive their certificate?
Once received from the test host, the typical time for tests to be processed and certificates to be issued and received by participants is between 8-16 weeks.
