Each year, CKC releases the official Top Dog results to celebrate the achievements of Canadian competitors and their dogs in CKC-recognized events. Featuring an award system that was established in 1963, Top Dog status is now one of the highest recognitions in the Canadian dog fancy.
How is Top Dog status earned? There is no single contest or competition to become a Top Dog. Dog-and-handler teams earn Top Dog points automatically by successfully competing in CKC events throughout the year. Competitors of all ages and levels can compete in CKC events and earn Top Dog points. With rankings released by breed, group and all breeds, the Top Dog results highlight both Canada’s top performing dogs and ones to watch.
With each new year comes new opportunities. Whether it’s earning your first agility title or setting your sights on #1, there is a goal to suit every competitor’s passion. Discover the joy of the canine-human bond, as one of our top handlers put it, “I have never found such an interesting challenge as in training dogs. Competition success is just a by-product of our joyful canine relationships.”
