Tattoo
Canadian Born Dogs
A CKC registered dog would have tattoo markings that would consist of a designated tattoo series, serial number for each dog, letter signifying the year the dog was born. For example, ABC (tattoo series assigned to breeder from the CKC) 1 (serial number assigned to the dog) Y (letter representing the year of birth of the dog). A complete tattoo marking would appear similar to this: ABC 1Y. The tattoo year letter for dogs born in 2011 is Y.
