Notice to Conformation Clubs - Rate of Judging
This communication is being forwarded to all Conformation Clubs and Judges with regard to the rate of judging and the Baby Puppy Class.
In accordance with Section 3.4.2 of the Conformation Show Rules,
“A judge shall not judge more than 175 dogs at the breed level in a single day, including dogs entered in stakes, non-regular classes and specialty show held on the same day. Where a judge is engaged to judge more than one (1) show on the same date in the same venue, it is the joint responsibility of the clubs to ensure this rule is enforced.”
Therefore, all of the Baby Puppies entered in the Baby Puppy Class, as well as all of the dogs entered in the other non-regular classes are included in the 175 dogs.
Many clubs have not been including Baby Puppies in the count for 175 dogs.
Further, when a club is holding multiple shows on the same day, where the maximum number of entries is 175 or 200 dogs, the club must ensure that judges do not judge more than 175 dogs within both shows.
Should you have any questions in this regard, please do not hesitate to contact the Event Planning Department, in the Shows and Trials Division.
Sincerely,
Tracy Kent
