The first weekend of CKC sprinter events was held by the Alberta Lure Coursing Association (ALCA) on July 1st and 2nd near Edmonton; a total of four events — two per day — saw incredibly strong entries of 72 and 74 entries for the first day, and 64 and 61 entries for the second day. Participants ranged from a tiny Toy Poodle to a brawny Bullmastiff, not to mention a sizeable contingent of Boxers. Amazingly, it is reported that 13 dogs received their CKC Novice Sprinter titles (Pending CKC Verification) on the 3rd test and 29 dogs on the 4th test. The ALCA’s inaugural sprinter event has given us the very first CKC Novice Sprinter (Pending CKC Verification) titled dog: a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named “Cohen.” Congratulations to all the dogs who participated, their proud owners, and to ALCA for running a fantastic first CKC Sprinter Event!
