Join us for a FREE one-hour webinar as we explore the brachycephalic landscape locally and internationally and highlight the important role of the breeder in optimizing the health and welfare of brachycephalic breeds. Also, learn more about what CKC, the Brachycephalic Breeds Advocacy Committee and its partners are doing to tackle this complex issue.

About our speakers:
Richard Paquette

Richard has been involved in purebred dogs since 1971. He began his career in dogs with primarily Shih Tzu with the kennel name Wenrick. Richard is now a retired professional dog handler, a profession he enjoyed for 15 years.
 
He has served on the executives of All Breed and Specialty breed clubs and is currently a Director of the Canadian Kennel Club, Chair of the CKC Brachycephalic Breeds Advocacy Committee and President of the Canadian Shih Tzu Club. Richard serves on the breed health Committees of both the Canadian and American Shih Tzu Clubs and has given seminars in many countries on correct breed type and structure of Shih Tzu and how it effects the health and quality of life of the dogs. 

Richard is a CKC Licensed All Breed judge, a founding member of the Canadian Dog Judges Association and a member of the American Dog Judges Association. In addition to Canada and the U.S., Richard has also judged in 30 countries.
  
Dr. Terill Udenberg

Dr. Udenberg has been involved in the sport of exhibiting dogs for nearly thirty years, starting with Dobermans. He has been breeding Standard Poodles for over twenty-five years with the prefix "Tees" of Tees Blue Skies.

He is currently an internationally recognized “all breed” judge and frequently does seminars in subjects including, “Canine Reproduction,” and “Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome.”
Dr. Udenberg served on the Health Committee for the Pekingese Club of America. He was invited to speak on behalf of the Pekingese Club of Great Britain (on airway research) as an expert witness regarding changing the Pekingese Standard as proposed by the Kennel Club, UK. The research included other breeds in the Brachycephalic group as well. Dr. Udenberg also serves on the CKC Brachycephalic Breeds Advocacy Committee.

Dr. Udenberg was a professor in both University and at the college level and is an expert in anatomy and physiology. As a veterinarian, he has a special interest in genetically inherited disease. His veterinary expertise is in Cardiology and Internal Medicine, Ultrasound and Acupuncture.
