NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS RE: TEMPORARY COMPETITION NUMBERS
This is a reminder that all recognized breeds that are not CKC registered but are eligible for registration MUST obtain a Temporary Competition Number (TCN) BEFORE entering into an event. Event Secretaries should not accept an entry for a dog that does not have a registration number or TCN.
Listed Breeds (dogs that require an MCN), dogs that require a Performance Event Number (PEN) or Canine Companion Number (CCN) are not eligible for a TCN, including Baby Puppies. They must obtain a registration number prior to entering into an event.
Once the dog is permanently registered or has an ERN, the TCN will no longer be valid.
While there is no fee for the Temporary Competition Number, exhibitors will still be required to pay TCN fees (formerly listing fees) when entering events.
The request for a TCN is self-serve. Exhibitors can go online to their CKC Portal, under Applications, then Dog Registration and follow the instructions online. The TCN will be issued immediately online after submitting the application.
When applying for a TCN online, after selecting Dog Registration, please select OBTAIN A DOG NUMBER FOR THE SOLE PURPOSES OF COMPETING IN CKC EVENTS. The option for a TCN will then display.
The TCN will display under the MY DOGS tab, List Of My Dogs, TCN Dogs.
