CKC Seeks Volunteers for the IT Steering Committee


The Board of Directors of the Canadian Kennel Club encourages active membership participation and is requesting submissions from interested members to fill two (2) positions to serve on the IT Steering Committee for the remainder of the three-year term. One position has been added as per a motion passed at the March 2023 Board meeting and one position is due to a vacancy.

Applications should be received no later than May 12, 2023.
 
Applicants must be voting members. Voting members are considered those members who are in good standing and who have completed one year of continuous membership in the Club. To be considered, please complete this fillable form. Send your completed form by email to ed@ckc.ca with “IT Steering Committee” noted in the subject line.


IT Steering Committee
The IT Steering Committee shall be a committee of five (5) members, one (1) of whom shall be a member of the Board, three (3) of whom shall be Canadian Kennel Club members with a background in IT, IT governance and/or project management, and one (1) of whom shall be a member of the Audit Committee.

The Committee shall be responsible for advising, reviewing and approving IT strategic plans and overseeing major initiatives. The IT Steering Committee is a foundational practice for IT governance. Areas include:
  • IT strategic review
  • IT service levels
  • IT availability, capacity and continuity management
  • Information security
  • Change management
  • Release and deployment
  • Incident management
  • Access management and other areas as appropriate

Please note, this Committee meets on a regular basis through a virtual platform.
