CKC Celebrates Excellence with the 2025 Chairs' Awards


The Canadian Kennel Club is proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 CKC Chairs' Awards, recognizing three extraordinary members for their outstanding contributions to our dogs, community, and sports. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional dedication, skill, and passion, making lasting impacts on the CKC and the canine world.

This year’s winners include:

Brenda Brown, recipient of the CKC National Breeder of the Year Award. Brenda has built the most titled Portuguese Water Dog breeding program in CKC history and continues to shape the breed’s future with her focus on health, versatility, and performance.

Randy Doan, recipient of the CKC NationalHeritage Canine Performance Award. With over 40 years of experience, Randy has been a leader in field trials and mentoring the next generation of handlers, ensuring the sport continues to thrive.

Janice Gunn, recipient of the CKC National Obedience Competitor of the Year Award. Janice’s career is marked by numerous High in Trial awards and an unwavering commitment to educating and mentoring fellow competitors, both locally and internationally.





These three exceptional members embody the spirit of excellence, passion, and community that the CKC strives to uphold. Their efforts in advancing dog sports and breed development are truly inspiring, and we are honoured to celebrate their achievements.
