It might have been a cloudy weekend, but our top Canadian Junior finalists really shone at this year’s Canadian Junior Handling National Finals, held on Saturday August 2, 2014 in the thriving neighbourhood of Sainte-Foy, Quebec.
CKC Director Ed Gravely and CKC Executive Director Lance Novak were on hand to witness some fantastic talent that showcased the best that Canada has to offer and were pleased to share in the excitement when British Columbia native Olivia Nobes took home the title for Best Overall Junior for Conformation and Winnipeg resident, Jade Unrau, won Best Overall Junior for Obedience.
Thanks to Junior Handling sponsor Royal Canin for their support of the Junior Handling banquet and for awarding $500 to Obedience winner Jade and $2,500 to Conformation winner Olivia toward travel to Crufts in 2015 for a chance to compete at the International Junior Handling Competition. Best of luck Olivia!
Also, special thanks to organizer-extraordinaire, Hélène Chaussé, CKC Junior Zone 3 Representative and 2014 Junior National Championship Chair, Société Canine de Québec, for a well-run, successful event that really captured the unique Junior Handling experience.
Much appreciation to our esteemed judges for Conformation: Thora Brown, Lynda Torrance, Myriam Ruel, Anik Primea, Sylvain Généreux and Obedience: Diane Rockburn, Sylvie Ferland, Pierre Lambert for their time and expertise.
