CKC would like to advise our members that the American Kennel Club has recently introduced the new AKC Certified Export Pedigree, which contains all the information required to obtain registration with foreign kennel clubs. Effective May 31, 2019, the AKC requests that kennel clubs solely require an AKC Certified Export Pedigree for all U.S. born dogs seeking registration.
The AKC Certified Export Pedigree merges the information currently found on the AKC 3-Generation Certified Pedigree and the AKC Registration Certificate. The AKC believes that the use of this new document, which includes all the information your registry should require and can only be purchased by a dog’s official owner(s), will simplify the registration process, as well as better protect breeders and dog owners.
Until May 31, 2019, both the AKC Certified Pedigree and AKC Certificate should be honored.
More information about the change can be found on the AKC’s website here.
