As you may know, the results of the
2014 Referendums, in which 21 of 22 proposed CKC By-law amendments received favourable approval by the membership, were given
final approval by the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada on July 16, 2015.
Changes to our By-laws became effective on that date and over the next little while the Club will make any necessary changes to our written materials (i.e. forms, policies, etc.) and a new By-laws booklet will be printed and made available for viewing on the CKC website. A copy can also be obtained, free of charge, by calling the CKC Order Desk at 1(800) 250-8040 or emailing
orderdesk@ckc.ca

In the days ahead, more information will follow about these new opportunities as well as other programs and initiatives that the Club is now able to undertake as a result of having received the required approval from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.

“Dutch Sheepdog” to “Schapendoes”

Rules of Eligibility have been approved for the following breeds:
Retriever (Curly-Coated)

Please note: Although the membership voted in favour of Rules of Eligibility for the Retriever (Chesapeake Bay), following the mailing of the referendum ballot information came to light that further work needed to be done in order to more clearly define the distinguishing characteristics for this breed. CKC will be working with the breeders of this breed to do this and a revised version will be presented to the membership in a future referendum. |
