The CKC team has been working diligently to address the recent cyber security incident with CanuckDogs.com. We are pleased to share that the website is once again available at www.CanuckDogs.com. We will provide you with further updates regarding any changes with the website as they become available. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced and appreciate your patience.
To those who are unaware of the security incident, here is a brief summary and steps you can take if you have a Canuck Dogs account (with login and password).
- On September 1, 2024, CKC discovered that an unauthorized third party accessed the CanuckDogs.com website and that Canuck Dogs account holders may have had some of their personal information affected including names, usernames, passwords, and e-mail addresses. We notified Canuck Dogs account holders about the incident on September 2, 2024.
- CKC has been diligently investigating this incident and is working with experts to implement additional security measures for CanuckDogs.com.
If you have a Canuck Dogs account, please do the following:
- Delete any emails that have come from CKC’s Canuck Dogs, especially ones asking for donations or making any other requests. Please remain vigilant and be mindful of phishing or scam attempts such as e-mails from unknown senders or those that contain unusual content, such as links or attachments, or that ask for personal information.
- If you made a donation in response to the fraudulent email that was sent out, please contact PayPal and/or your credit card company immediately to inform them of the scam and seek their assistance.
- If you are someone who uses the same username and/or password for more than one of your personal accounts (e.g. your bank account), please change your passwords right away to ensure that you are not at risk.
