International Partnership for Dogs

The International Partnership for Dogs (IPFD), legally registered in Sweden, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate collaboration and sharing of resources to enhance the health, well-being, and welfare of pedigreed dogs and all dogs worldwide. Learn more about IPFD here.

CKCSocialFULLCOLOUR-1.jpgAs an IPFD Contributing Partner, the CKC will work with the IPFD to support CKC members and Clubs in their efforts to develop and enhance strategies for sound breeding practices and breed improvement.

The CKC joins the national kennel clubs of Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, The Netherlands, and UK as key supporters of the IPFD’s mission.

IPFD: Bringing the Dog World Together
The IPFD and our internet platform DogWellNet.com came into being following a long history of efforts to address dog health and well-being by many stakeholders. Read more in IPFD: Background and Development.

IPFD recently published  an article entitled: Reframing Current Challenges Around Pedigree Dogs: A Call for Respectful Dialogue, Collaboration and Collective Actions. Our aim is to encourage open and respectful dialogue, collective and collaborative actions, and a global perspective on issues affecting the health and welfare of dogs, including the impact of human dog interactions, the culture of dogs, legislative approaches, and emerging challenges. Learn more in International Actions | Think Globally, Act Locally.

IPFD has also stepped up efforts to support veterinarian-client communication on breeds and breed-specific issues though the WSAVA Bulletin and articles for its Get a GRIHP! breed health initiative.
