Dr. Sara Ritzie
After completing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2007, Sara Ritzie spent three years in companion animal practice prior to joining Royal Canin Canada as a Technical Service Veterinarian. Currently she is a Scientific Communication Manager at Royal Canin, where she leads a team of veterinarians across Canada and is responsible for the strategy and delivery of scientific content and services in the Canadian business.
Sara serves as the industry representative on the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Professional Development Committee, addressing continuing education issues and activities for Canadian veterinarians, and is a member of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario Veterinary Practice Community Reference Panel, providing input and feedback to the College on emerging policy matters, communication strategies with the veterinary community, and emerging trends and challenges in veterinary medicine. Sara is also an alumna of the Homeward Bound Program, a global leadership, strategy, and science initiative which aims to heighten the impact of women with a science background in order to influence policy and decision making as it shapes our planet. She has a passion for developing and driving sustainable solutions for the challenges that we collectively face in our careers, our industry, and our planet.
