CKC and Subaru Canada, Inc. Congratulate Subaru Agility Team Canada on Great Performance at the AKC Agility Invitational

Four members of Subaru Agility Team Canada (SATC) travelled to Orlando, Florida, to represent Canada at the American Kennel Club Agility Invitational held on December 16 - 18. CKC’s four invitees joined approximately 700 other dogs for three days of rigorous competition and fast-paced fun! This year’s SATC competitors werepic1.jpg Debby DaCosta with “Krystal” (Small), Anneli Hilton with “Arson” (Medium), Tiffany Salmon with “Chill” (Large), and Junior Handler, Kyra Salmon with “Covey” (Large).

The competition began Friday with the Junior Handlers where Kyra/Covey took home second place in Jumpers with Weaves (JWW) and 4th place overall in Juniors! They took their momentum in to the main competition and finished 7th in Time to Beat Open Obedience & Advanced Rally.

Tiffany/Chill faced challenges in the first three rounds of JWW but their persistence and drive led the way to a clean run in the 4th round, taking home 4th place. Chill was awarded the Certificate for Top International Dog for 20” height category.

Anneli/Arson competing in the medium dog, 16” height category wowed the crowds with their 1st place finish in pic2.jpgTime to Beat (Regular), 1st place in Round 1: JWW and 3rd place in Round 2: Standard. For their amazing work, Anneli and Arson were awarded 2nd in Sporting Dogs after Round 2.

In the small dog category, Debby/Krystal faced fierce competition, finishing 11th of 129 dog/handler teams in Round 1: JWW and 10th in Round 2: Standard, giving them an 8th place overall after Round 2.

“Congratulations to all SATC members who participated in Orlando. The enthusiasm and dedication to working toward their goals at such elite levels is inspiring,” said Joe Felstein, Subaru’s Director of Marketing.

Linda Barton, Team Leader, could barely contain her enthusiasm at the end of the weekend, “it was an absolutely amazing event! Loved every minute of it.”  SATC would like to thank Subaru Canada, Inc. for their generous support in 2016.

Congratulations again to all of the SATC competitors. We look forward to cheering you on in the international ring in 2017!
