On behalf of the Board of Directors, the Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Paul Eckford, Ph.D. as the new CKC Director in Zone 6, Ontario West.
Chosen from among several highly qualified candidates, Dr. Eckford brings CKC Committee experience, outstanding scientific expertise and esteem as breeder of Pomeranians, under a registered kennel name, to the CKC Board.
Dr. Eckford grew up in a household with registered Collies and he continues to indulge his love of purebred dogs with involvement in the breeder community, as a Conformation show competitor and as Chair for Health and Genetics of the Pomeranian Club of Canada.
An eight-year member of the CKC, Dr. Eckford has made significant contributions to the work of the Genetics and Medical Committee through two terms of service, bringing his scientific rigour and communications skills to bear on such issues as genetics testing and the risks of Parvo at shows.
Dr. Eckford’s sound, scientifically grounded voice will complement the accomplished and distinctive skill-set on the Board, furthering the Club’s vision as a dynamic service organization, a recognized authority for purebred dogs, and an advocate for all dogs. Congratulations, Dr. Eckford!
