2021 Honourary Chair of the CKC


Announced at the 2021 Annual General Meeting, the CKC Board of Directors is pleased to share Dr. Tammy Dunbar, DVM, has been appointed as the 2021 Honourary Chair of the CKC.

Dr. Tammy Dunbar has dedicated most of her life to the world of dogs, joining both the CKC and the Portage Kennel Clubs in 1995 after purchasing her first Newfoundland dog from the Fallenoak kennel in 1994. She has been the show secretary for the Portage Kennel Club since 2008 and has held a variety of positions in the Newfoundland Dog Club of Canada, the Portage Kennel Club, and the Newfoundland Dog Club of Manitoba. In subsequent years she has bred many champion and group placing Newfoundland dogs through the Nustar kennel name. 

Her love for animals also extends into her profession, practicing large and small breed veterinary medicine in the Prairies for over 30 years. Her hours of work assisting with breeding and husbandry challenges has made her an invaluable resource to owners and breeders in both Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

As a breeder, owner, competitor and volunteer, Dr. Tammy Dunbar has demonstrated years of exemplary dedication and passion for dogs at a variety of levels in the canine community. The CKC Board is honored to invite her to sit as Honourary Chair of the CKC for 2021.
