ATTN: Conformation Exhibitors & Clubs - Changes to the Baby Puppy Class
At the September 2020 meeting of the Board of Directors, a motion was passed to change the age range of eligibility for the Baby Puppy Class:
“THAT, the Conformation Show Rules & Regulations, Sections 12.6.1 (a) & (f), 12.8.3 (a) and 16.6.1 be amended effective July 1, 2021 to read as follows:
12 Breeds, Classes, Awards & Sweepstake
12.6 Non-Regular Classes
12.6.1 The non-regular classes allowed at CKC conformation show shall be as described in this section. If offered, these classes must be included in the premium list. A dog entered in the Brace or Team class that is spayed/neutered must be entered in an Altered class or in Exhibition Only
(a) Baby Puppy Class
Dogs three (3) Four (4) months of age and under six (6) months of age on the day of the show. The awards for this class are:
Best Baby Dog and Best Baby Bitch
Best Baby Puppy in Breed
Best Baby Puppy in Group
Best Baby Puppy in Show
A Baby Puppy awarded Best Baby Puppy in Breed is not required to stay for Best Baby Puppy in Group. A Baby Puppy awarded Best Baby Puppy in Group is not required to stay to compete for Best Baby Puppy in Show.
(f) Puppies 4-6 Months (Exhibition Only)
(i) Dogs three (3) Four (4) of age and under six (6) months of age on the day of the show may be entered in Exhibition Only, providing that the owner of the puppies has also entered a dog in one of the regular official classes.”
