Notice to Conformation Clubs

This notice is to provide clarification to clubs on classes with recording fees, closing dates and times, and a new rule regarding dogs moving from the Specials Only class back to classes.

PREMIUM LISTS:
In accordance with Chapter VI, Section I, Premium Lists, and Appendix B of the Conformation Show Rules, the date and closing time for entries must be listed on the cover or first inside page of the Premium List. The closing date must not be less than 10 days prior to the date of the show.

Please note that the date and closing time for entries cannot be amended without approval from Head Office.

MOVING A DOG BACK TO THE CLASSES FROM SPECIALS:
The following motion regarding moving a dog back to the classes from Specials Only was carried at the September meeting of the Board of Directors: “THAT, the Conformation Show Rules & Regulations, Section 8.10 be amended by adding a new section effective immediately to read as follows:

8. ENTRIES & END OF SHOW
8.10 Moving a Dog to Specials

ADD NEW
8.10.5 A dog can be moved back into the classes from a special if it has been entered incorrectly only where shows have already closed.”

NON-REGULAR/UNOFFICIAL CLASSES:
Clubs are not required to submit recording fees for dogs entered in Non-regular or Unofficial classes – with the exception of Baby Puppy. Please note that there is a difference between Non-Regular and Unofficial Classes.

Non-Regular Classes
• All-Breed Conformation Shows – Baby Puppy, Veterans, Brace, Team, Exhibition Only
• Specialty Conformation Shows – Baby Puppy, Brace, Team, Stud Dog & Get, Brood Bitch & Progeny, Exhibition Only

Unofficial Classes
Specialties may offer breed-specific classes – i.e., Best Head, Best Gait, Best Ridge, etc. The details of Unofficial classes must be published in the Premium List. Unofficial Classes must be held after regular and non-regular classes including Group and Best in Show judging.

ALTERED CLASS:
The altered class is an optional, regular class. Clubs are required to submit recording fees for altered dogs.

TITLES:
As a reminder, in accordance with Chapter VI, Section J, Show Catalogues, of the Policy & Procedures Manual, only Canadian Kennel Club recognized titles are to be used on the entry forms and show catalogues.
