Winnipeg Members Encouraged to Participate in City Survey Re: BSL and Exotic Animals


As you may know, the City of Winnipeg has been conducting public consultations regarding proposed changes to its 2013 Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw. Based on feedback from the first phase, the City determined that further engagement was needed regarding exotic animals and breed-specific legislation.

You are encouraged to take the survey to share your feedback no later than February 13, 2022.

The City will also continue to meet with stakeholders representing the pet industry and animal welfare organizations to gather feedback directly. Feedback received will help inform recommendations on exotic animals and breed-specific legislation that will be presented to Council in spring 2022 for its consideration.
