Notice to All Conformation Specialty Clubs Re: Specialty Shows


The following motion regarding Specialty Shows was passed at the May 2023 meeting of the Board of Directors.  The change to policy only affects clubs designated as “local” specialty clubs. 

The effective date is January 1, 2024. 

Policy & Procedures, Chapter VI, Shows & Trials, Section N, Conformation Events, Subsection 6, Specialty Shows:

(2) A regional, or provincial or local specialty club that is holding a Specialty Show may hold a second  Specialty Show on a day preceding or following the Specialty Show, provided that:
  1. there is no specialty club other than a national specialty club operating in the area of operation of the club hosting the Specialty Show; or
  2. if there is a specialty club, other than a national specialty club, operating in the area of operations of the club hosting the specialty, that specialty club agrees to holding of the specialty.
ADD NEW
  1. In the case of stand-alone specialties (not in conjunction with an all breed club), the back to back specialty shows can be held on the same day provided they are scheduled consecutively.
(3) A local specialty club may hold only one (1) conformation specialty show per year.
