As part of the proposed changes to the Bill 159, Preventing Unethical Puppy Sales Act (PUPS Act), 2023, the Ontario government plans to hold consultations on proposed regulations related to tail docking, ear cropping, dewclaw removal and debarking under the Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act, 2019 (PAWS Act).
These proposed changes may impact some CKC members and their purebred dogs. We have learned that preliminary stakeholder consultations have begun, and we feel it is important that we hear from you on this important subject.
Join us on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. EDT for an information and engagement session (English only) regarding potential changes related to tail docking, ear cropping, dewclaw removal, and debarking. Your feedback on these potential changes will enable us to be prepared for public consultations that are expected to take place this summer.
Thank you to those who have already registered to attend the meeting. We have reached maximum capacity therefore registration has now been closed.
For those who are not able to attend, we will be sending out a survey soon to members to collect your feedback.
