Agility Team Canada Shines on the International Stage

From Abrantes, Portugal, to the upcoming world stage in Sweden, Agility Team Canada is making their mark in 2025.

This July, the team proudly represented Canada at three major international agility events:
  • Junior Open Agility World Championship (JOAWC) – July 11–13
  • Senior Open Agility World Championship (SOAWC) – July 11–13
  • European Open (EO) – July 18–20
Across all three events, Canadian handlers and dogs delivered exceptional performances, from podium placements in small dog divisions to strong top 25 finishes at the EO, and inspiring sportsmanship that set the tone for the entire competition.

As Team Leader Kate Polkovsky put it, “That camaraderie is so uniquely Canadian, and so real.”

Now, the focus shifts to the Agility World Championship (AWC) in Sweden, September 17–21, the most prestigious event in the sport. Known as “walking the green carpet,” AWC offers a one-ring, sold-out stadium atmosphere where the world’s best step onto the line under the eyes of thousands of spectators.

“For Canadian Agility athletes, the Agility World Championship is the pinnacle of our sport – it’s the ultimate proving ground,” said Kayl McCann, 2025 AWC team member.
