CKC Welcomes Happy Ratters Title Recognition Program

Effective July 1, 2026, the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) will recognize eligible titles earned through Happy Ratters.

Happy Ratters is a fun, positive sport that enhances the bond between dogs and their owner/handler, while always prioritizing the safety of both dogs and vermin in an urban setting. The program encourages camaraderie, sportsmanship, and support between competitors. The CKC is thrilled to adopt this Title Recognition Program beginning July 1, 2026.

Titles earned through Happy Ratters prior to the launch date will also be eligible for CKC recognition. The CKC Office will begin accepting applications on or after July 1, 2026.

The following titles can be earned through this Title Recognition Program:

For your dog to obtain a CKC Title and Certificate, your dog must have the following:
  • A CKC Registration Number,
  • a Performance Event Number,
  • a Canine Companion Number,
  • a Miscellaneous Certification Number or
  • an Event Registration Number.
In addition, a completed Happy Ratters Title Application Form and the fee listed on the Schedule of Fees plus applicable tax must be provided to CKC. 

The application form will be available on the CKC Website before July 1, 2026. Watch for an announcement prior to the launch date.
