Become a CKC Advocacy Ambassador and Help Advocate for Purebred Dogs!

Do you have an interest in lending your voice to CKC’s advocacy efforts? Do you have experience that you could bring as an Advocacy Ambassador? We invite our passionate members to join CKC’s Advocacy Ambassador Program.

As a volunteer ambassador, you would support the CKC staff and Advocacy Committee in advocating for the health and well-being of dogs through government relations, public education, and media engagement!

CKC Advocacy Ambassadors would play a significant role in advancing CKC’s strategic advocacy priorities and initiatives, including:
  • Supporting our efforts to establish CKC as an authority on all dog-related matters.
  • Assisting CKC staff with advocacy initiatives, including building positive and sustainable relationships with government and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with CKC staff to influence existing and future legislation/regulations related to canine health and wellbeing.

    Note: Member applicants must be in good standing with CKC.
  2. Send your completed form by August 15, 2025 to [email protected] with “Advocacy Ambassador” noted in the subject line.
 
To begin, we will have a limited number of Advocacy Ambassador positions and thank all those who apply for their interest. We will be in touch over the coming month with those who are selected. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
 
Primary responsibilities of volunteer ambassadors include:
  • Participating in national and provincial volunteer advocacy activities and events, including building positive relations with the government, animal welfare organizations, and other stakeholders, reaching out to MPPs, and advocating to elected officials.
  • Sharing your experiences and expertise related to purebred dogs, breeding, canine health and well-being and other dog-related matters with the government and other key stakeholders.
  • Representing CKC as a spokesperson with media representatives, key stakeholders, and CKC members.
  • Staying informed on new and potential provincial and other legislation impacting purebred dogs and CKC members.
