Notice to All Agility Trial Judges – Course Evaluation

This communication is for Agility Trial Judges. Judges have been submitting course designs with information listed on the course that should not be included.

As the course design process is anonymous, meaning that the volunteers do not know who submitted the course or which club it is for, it is important that only the required information be indicated.

With this in mind, we are providing some guidelines for submission of courses for evaluation to assist the judges, volunteer course evaluators and staff.

It is important that any identifying information about the Club or Judge is not included anywhere on the courses until after you have received final course approval.

The CKC is now including the approved judges for each event on the official judging panel approval letter to clubs. This letter includes the approved judging assignment of each judge to include information about the event, class & level.

The courses you submit must match what the CKC has approved, if there are discrepancies, we will advise you to correspond with the club, who will need to advise the CKC of any changes or updates prior to accepting courses for evaluation.

If a course has a designing & officiating judge, this information should be noted in the email to staff as a point of reference.

Please make sure to include the Standard Course Time on all applicable courses.

We have implemented a new naming convention for courses. Staff will add a 4-digit identifier which will be followed by 2 letters as described below:

Level (N, I, E) Class(S, J,P,JT,SC)
N - Novice S - Standard
I - Intermediate J – Jumpers with Weaves
E – Excellent/Master P - PAD
  JT – Jumps and Tunnels
  SC - Steeplechase

Once a course has been named it will be added to the notes section, in the format 0000XX, all further updates and submissions need to remain under this course name.

We appreciate your continued support and hope that these guidelines provide clarification and simplification for the evaluation process.
