Notice to All Clubs Hosting Canine Good Neighbour Tests
The following motions were reviewed and carried by the Canine Good Neighbour Council this year, and referred to the CKC Board of Directors. At the September 2025 meeting of the Board of Directors, the following motions related to Canine Good Neighbour Tests were carried:
THAT, the Policy & Procedures Manual, Chapter VI, Shows & Trials, Section Q be amended effective immediately as follows:
Q. New Events
ADD NEW
(11) The club/organization holding a Canine Good Neighbour test, or the CGN Evaluator, must forward to the CKC, the completed Statement
of Event Fees form, all of the Registration/Evaluation forms, and payment so as to be received not more than 14 days after the test.
Non-compliance with policy may results in an automatic administrative fee and/or the organization not being approved to hold future tests.
THAT, the Canine Good Neighbour Program, Evaluator Guide, General Test Information (b) be amended effective January 1, 2026 as follows:
General Test Information
(b) The CGN tests will be conducted inside indoors and/or outdoors in everyday busy public locations and where other dogs and people are
present (other than those entered in the test) such as shopping mails, hotels, community centres or parks. They are not conducted in quiet
locations or such as regular dog training halls.
THAT, the Schedule of Fees be amended effective January 1, 2026 to read as follows:

Late Fees – Judging Schedule/Event Date Application/Judging Panel/Return Fees
Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) Results Return Fees $100.00
Please note that other sections of the Canine Good Neighbour Evaluator Guide were updated as well as the Policy & Procedures Manual with regard to Canine Good Neighbour Evaluators. They are effective January 1, 2026. We encourage you to take the time to review the updates once they are available online in December.
