Dogs Who Save the Day: A Real-Life Superhero Story


In honour of National Superhero Day, the Canadian Kennel Club is highlighting the incredible ways dogs show up for us when it matters most.

One recent story shared by a CKC member stands out. When Alberta resident Ross Schmidt suffered a massive heart attack, his dog, Mr. Magoo, stepped in. The Chesapeake Bay Retriever made his way to a neighbour and led them back, helping ensure Ross received the emergency care he needed.

It’s a powerful reminder of the deep bond between people and their dogs, and the extraordinary role they can play in our lives.

We were blown away by the incredible stories shared by CKC members. This is just the beginning. More heroic dog stories are coming soon.
