This notice is being shared at the request of the CKC Junior Kennel Council. The council would like to remind clubs that hold Junior Handling Conformation that there might be instances when a Junior Handler may not be in a position to lift a dog onto a table for examination.
These are breeds that must be examined on a table in accordance with the Conformation Show Rules. The list is noted below for reference.
When there is a Junior Handler with a breed that must be examined on a table, at the discretion of the judge, the Junior Handler should be asked if they are able to lift the dog onto the table. In circumstances where the Junior Handler is not able to lift a dog onto a table for examination purposes, a ramp must be made available and used in lieu. Please always bear in mind the safety of the dogs and the handler.
Before judging commences, either the Junior Kennel Council Representative or someone in the club hosting, or the Event Secretary, must instruct the judges in this regard.
The CKC and the Council thank you for your cooperation and support in this regard.
