Registration Open for the 2026 CKC/CDJA Conference for Licensed Conformation Judges

The Canadian Kennel Club (CKC), in conjunction with the Canadian Dog Judges Association (CDJA), is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 CKC/CDJA Conference for Licensed Conformation Judges.

Taking place October 3 and 4, 2026, at Hotel Blackfoot in Calgary, Alberta, this annual conference offers licensed conformation judges the opportunity to continue their professional development, connect with fellow judges, and learn from respected experts in the sport.

The conference weekend begins with the CDJA Meet and Greet on Friday, October 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (cash bar). Conference sessions will take place on Saturday and Sunday, with the CDJA Annual General Meeting following Saturday's sessions. A host dinner is planned for Saturday evening, with additional details to be shared with attendees once confirmed.

This year's keynote speaker is Ante Lučin (Croatia), presenting What Do Exhibitors Expect From Us as Judges. Additional conference topics include:
  • Breaking Down Breed Standards
  • Livestock vs. Canine Critiques
  • CKC Update
  • Breakout Session
  • Breed presentations featuring:
    • Miniature Schnauzers
    • Pekingese
    • Pembroke Welsh Corgis
    • Rough & Smooth Collies
    • Shetland Sheepdogs
The registration fee is $309.75 (including applicable taxes). Registration is open from July 6 through Friday, September 4, 2026, and no refunds will be issued after the registration deadline.

Participants must attend the full two-day conference to receive a certificate. Conference materials will be provided on a USB drive, and continental breakfast is included each morning. Attendees also have the option of participating in a Friday afternoon tour of the University of Calgary Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The tour is $10 per person, payable at the conference (cash preferred), and departs from the hotel at 2:30 p.m.

Hotel accommodations are available at Hotel Blackfoot at the special CKC/CDJA Conference Rate of $145 plus tax per night, including continental breakfast. When booking, please mention the CKC/CDJA Conference Rate and quote Booking ID 34573.

To register, complete the registration form and submit it by email to Cindy Kremer, Shows and Trials, at [email protected] no later than Friday, September 4, 2026.
