Canadian Team Spotlight: Sarah Petrie and Bowie Prepare for the World Dog Show


Tomorrow, thousands of dogs and exhibitors from around the globe will gather in Bologna, Italy, for the 2026 World Dog Show, one of the largest international dog events in the world.

One of the teams representing Canada will be Sarah Petrie and her Shih Tzu, Bowie, who are preparing to compete on the world stage following an incredible 2025 campaign that saw Bowie ranked Canada’s #4 All-Breed Dog and the #1 Owner-Handled Dog of All Breeds.

In a new feature on The Dish, Sarah shares what it means to represent Canada internationally, how she and Bowie have been preparing for the event, and why attending the World Dog Show is such a meaningful milestone for her family and breeding program.
