CKC Officially Recognizes the Foreign Stud Book of Canine Owners and Breeders Association (COBA), Nigeria


CKC is pleased to announce that at the Board of Directors meeting held on February 28, 2026, a motion was carried to formally recognize the Canine Owners and Breeders Association (COBA), Nigeria.

With this decision, COBA has been added to CKC’s List of Recognized Foreign Stud Books. CKC and COBA now officially recognize each other’s registration certificates and pedigrees. As a result, dogs imported into Canada that are registered with COBA are eligible for full CKC registration.

Founded in 2019, the Canine Owners and Breeders Association (COBA), Nigeria is an internationally recognized canine registry. COBA licenses dog shows and a wide range of dog sports across the country. It is the only Nigerian institution federated with the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI). the world’s largest canine community.

CKC looks forward to building a formal relationship between our two Clubs—one that supports global dog health and well-being and expands access to activities and opportunities for purebred dog enthusiasts in both Canada and Nigeria.
