The annual CKC Veterinary Student Bursary provides meaningful support to eligible veterinary students across Canada. The five veterinary colleges in Canada receive $2,000 to award a deserving student to continue their education in the field of veterinary medicine and to support important veterinary programs.
At the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, Nicolas Farentino, holds multiple leadership roles across the OVC community while focusing on his passion of emergency and surgical care. He completed a federally funded research project on canine nutrition as well as hands-on work experience at the Costa Rica Animal Rescue Centre. His experience with working dogs and canine research has illuminated a new area of veterinary medicine that he will continue to explore. He was thrilled to be selected as our 2025 recipient at OVC and wants to become more involved with CKC.
CKC will continue to invest in future veterinarians, strengthening their foundation and inspiring them to lead with compassion and dedication.
