Kennel Name Status Review


The CKC is currently conducting a review of kennel names in its database as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure our records remain accurate and up to date. Over time, changes in membership status can affect kennel name reservations and this review will help to ensure that the kennel names continue to be properly associated with active members.

Under CKC policy, all owners listed on a kennel name must maintain active, consecutive membership for the name to remain reserved. When membership lapses for more than one year, the kennel name becomes eligible for cancellation.

As part of this review, CKC will contact affected members with instructions on how to reinstate missed membership years or, if preferred, request a transfer of kennel name ownership or the cancellation of their kennel name. Members will be required to respond by the specified deadline to prevent automatic cancellation.

This initiative supports adherence to CKC policy and helps preserve the integrity of the kennel name registry.
