Your Vote Can Help Shape the CKC’s Future

Voting in the 2026 CKC Election and Referendum is open. This is your opportunity to help shape the CKC’s leadership and weigh in on proposals that affect our organization and the breeds we represent.

Voting opened November 1 and closes November 30. Eligible members can vote through the CKC Member Portal.

In zones with a contested election, you can choose who will represent your zone on the CKC Board of Directors. You can also have your say on the referendum, which includes:
  • Proposed amendments to the CKC By-laws
  • Proposals to recognize four new breeds: the Bergamasco Shepherd Dog, Biewer Terrier, Grand Basset Griffon Vendéen and Yakutian Laika
  • 48 Rules of Eligibility (ROEs), including those for the four proposed new breeds and 44 additional ROEs
  • A proposed breed name change: Spaniel (Brittany) → Brittany.
You can review all the proposals in the full referendum booklet.

Voting by paper?
Your completed ballot must be received by BDO on or before November 30. Please allow enough time for it to arrive by the deadline.
Take a few minutes to review the candidates and referendum proposals, then cast your ballot by November 30.

Voting in French
The online voting platform is separate from the CKC Member Portal, so your language preference may not carry over. If the platform doesn’t open in French automatically, select Français at the top of the first voting screen. Your selection should carry through the rest of the voting pages.

Thank you for making your voice heard and helping shape the CKC’s future.
