CKC Veterinary Student Bursary


The annual CKC Veterinary Student Bursary provides meaningful support to veterinary students across Canada. Each of Canada’s five veterinary colleges receives a $2,000 bursary to award to a deserving student, helping advance veterinary education and to support important veterinary programs.

This spring, we were pleased to participate in the University of Calgary Giving Day. Through our ongoing support of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine’s Companion Animal Health Fund, our $2,000 contribution was matched, doubling its impact and helping support the training of the next generation of veterinarians.

In June, CKC representative Dr. Katherine Ball, DVM, PhD, herself a graduate of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, was honoured to present the bursary to Dr. Allison Kuzub at the University of Saskatchewan’s award ceremony. Upon graduation, Dr. Kuzub plans to pursue a career in small animal veterinary medicine, with a particular interest in emergency and critical care.

The CKC is proud to support these important initiatives and the dedicated students pursuing careers in veterinary medicine. We look forward to continuing our partnerships with the remaining three veterinary colleges in the coming months.
