The best of the best of Canada’s Junior Handlers went head to head at this year’s Canadian Junior Handling National Finals, held at the Caledon Kennel Association Dog Show on November 29 in Mississauga, Ontario.
Although these talented Juniors are winners in their own right, it was Danielle Pike who won Best Overall Junior for Obedience and Sydney Robinson who won Best Overall Junior for Conformation. Sydney will go on to represent Canada in the International Junior Handling Competition at Crufts in 2016. We wish her the best of luck!
Richard Paquette, Chair of the CKC Junior Kennel Club Council and CKC Director for Ontario North, in addition to Bob Rowbotham, CKC Board Chair, Peter Laventhall-Wolfish, CKC Director for Ontario Central and Lance Novak, CKC Executive Director, were on hand to congratulate all zone finalists who travelled from across Canada to compete.
Mr. Paquette acknowledges the Juniors’ dedication, hard work and valuable contribution to the sport of purebred
dogs and notes that competing in this high level competition has proven to be a rewarding and memorable experience for these competitors.
As Chair of the CKC Junior Kennel Club Council, Mr. Paquette is keen to acknowledge all those who have helped make this event a success. “I would like to thank our sponsor Royal Canin and the Caledon Kennel Association for hosting this important event. Their efforts will guarantee the future of our sport. Thank you to CKC staff for their support and a special thank you to Shawn and Nadine Bennett of Canadian Dog Fancier Magazine for the awesome souvenir program. Also, many thanks to Dean Dennis Photography for the excellent photos and portraits donated to the Juniors.
