CKC Pays Tribute to Past CKC Board Member Alan Bennett

ThKoyDP5pgQFqCqenKhpBg_Screen-20Shot-202019-10-11-20at-2011-12-24-20AM-1.pnge Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) is saddened by the passing of past CKC Board Member, Alan “Al” Bennett, on Monday, October 7, 2019. Alan was dedicated to the Canadian Dog Fancy and well-respected in the purebred dog community.

Al attended his first conformation dog show in 1977 and never looked back. He started his judging career in 1993 and over the years, he judged in many countries including the United States, Mexico, Columbia, Argentina, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Spain, Lithuania, Germany and his home, Canada.

Al was generous in dedicating his time to CKC and the purebred dog community. He served on the Board of Directors from 2000-2002 and 2004-2008, and was Chair of the 2008 Purina National. His volunteerism and contributions also extended to many committees and councils including Club Relations, Event Officiating, Working Certificate, Genetics and Medical, Herding Field Trial, Breed Specific Legislation Task Force, Responsible Dog Ownership, and Strategic Planning.

The CKC will be forever thankful for Alan’s considerable contribution to CKC and the Canadian Dog Fancy. Our thoughts are with Alan’s family and friends during this difficult time.
