The new policy affects those registering a litter whelped after June 30, 2020 sired by a foreign stud dog and
requires the applicant to provide a DNA Profile of the sire, which could be used for parentage verification purposes, to accompany the CKC Litter Registration application.
Moving forward, a DNA Profile of a sire not registered with CKC is always required, including if the semen has been collected for fresh, chilled or frozen use. Semen collected and stored prior to July 1, 2020 will be exempt from submitting this document with a litter application.
